The last patio that still feels like a plan
A table outside is a reservation and a weather bet. This is the last week the bet is still the point.
Late-August patio dining
MINUTECRITIC · Aug 30, 2026
A patio in late August is a restaurant review of weather. The kitchen is the same kitchen. The plates are the same plates. What you are buying is the chance to sit outside before the city goes back inside. After this week the same tables become a heat lamp and a story about 'shoulder season.' Right now they are still a plan.
Do not over-order to justify the wait. The wait is the tax. Score the night for the air and the hour, not for a sauce. If the room is better inside, go inside. If the patio is the point, leave when the light goes. That is a cleaner ending than dessert.
Book the early table. The food will be whatever it is. The air is the course.

The opening-Sunday sports bar
Restaurants/Sep 13, 2026
A sports bar on opening Sunday is a theater with worse sightlines
TVs in every direction, a menu that exists to justify the screens, and a room that scores the slate instead of a plate.

The layover meal
I ate a burger under fluorescent light and it was exactly what it was. I am not mad.

The bag that saved the night
I did not sit down. I still had a restaurant meal. That counts.
