The opening-Sunday sports bar
On-line review · 36/60 pts
A sports bar on opening Sunday is a theater with worse sightlines
TVs in every direction, a menu that exists to justify the screens, and a room that scores the slate instead of a plate.
The opening-Sunday sports bar
MINUTECRITIC · Sep 13, 2026
Opening Sunday turns a certain kind of dining room into a broadcast booth with stools. The screens are the architecture. The menu is the alibi. A good version of the room lets a table follow one game without a server narrating another. A bad version is a casino of feeds where nobody can hear a third-down call and the nachos arrive like a prop.
This is not a review of a secret kitchen. It is a review of a public format that comes back every September. Score the sightlines, the sound, the willingness to let a plate sit through a drive. If the food is the point, this is the wrong Sunday. If the slate is the point, the room is doing the only job it has.
Go for the windows, not the wings. The kitchen is a supporting actor and it knows it.

The last patio that still feels like a plan
A table outside is a reservation and a weather bet. This is the last week the bet is still the point.

The layover meal
I ate a burger under fluorescent light and it was exactly what it was. I am not mad.

The bag that saved the night
I did not sit down. I still had a restaurant meal. That counts.
