A Week 1 recap pod that drops while Dallas is still on the field is not a recap. It is a draft with ads. The form has a logic — feeds, clips, a need to be first in a directory — and the logic is hostile to the thing it claims to cover. Football is long on purpose. The podcast is short on purpose. Those purposes do not like each other.

The useful ones wait, or they pick a single game and stay there. The rest are a hallway of hot takes that will be quietly amended on Monday. If the show cannot survive a late window, it is not covering the league. It is covering the content cycle that leased the league.
