Two brothers, too many silences

I liked Normal People more than I admitted at the time. Intermezzo is sadder and quieter. Two brothers, a dead father, chess as a real pastime and not just a metaphor. The sentences are still that clean pane of glass. The feelings are not.

It will not convert anyone who already hates her. If you are in, this one feels like a wake instead of a group chat. That is progress even when it is also just sadness in a nice coat.
