Wolf Trap, on the lawn
On-line review · 42/60 pts
A lawn, a show, a mosquito
I paid to sit in the grass and hear a band. The mosquito paid nothing and also had a good time.
Wolf Trap, on the lawn · Vienna, Virginia
MINUTECRITIC · Jul 9, 2026
Wolf Trap in summer is Northern Virginia's civic religion. A lawn, a stage, people who packed snacks like it was a job. The sound on the lawn is what it is. The sky is better than a club. I would go again and I will complain about parking again.
If you need a perfect mix, buy a seat. If you need a night, take the grass. Score is for the night.
Bring a blanket and lower your standards for sound. The night is the product, not the mix.

The fall preview list

The fall preview list is a menu. It is not a meal.
September's most reliable cultural object is a numbered rundown of things you have not seen yet. Treat it like a circular, not a commandment.

Get dressed for a lawn, one more time
A lawn, a program, a bug. Civic summer still works if you leave the house before it ends.
