Five years of a shorter line
A government consumer service that still works, which is why it feels like a magic trick.
TSA PreCheck, renewed
MINUTECRITIC · Aug 19, 2026
TSA PreCheck is the rare consumer service whose value is visible in a hallway. You keep your shoes. You keep a little dignity. The shorter line is the product, and it still ships.
Renewal is a website, an appointment, and being photographed under bad light. It is not delightful. Compared with the rest of the travel stack, this is competence. Do it before the current card becomes a souvenir in a drawer.
If you fly twice a year, renew it. The form is the worst part, and the worst part is mild.

Labor Day store hours

Holiday hours are the product. The closed sign is doing the work.
Apps still take the order. A lot of counters will not. That split is the consumer story of the day.
