The first full Sunday of the NFL season is also the first full audit of the living-room stack. Over-the-air for the early window. A live-TV app if the local plus signs are a mess. A ticket product if the out-of-market game is the one that matters. A phone feed that will show the score before the replay. Each piece has a pitch. Together they are a second rent.

The honest review is arithmetic. If one path gets you the game you wanted, the stack worked. If three paths are open and nobody is watching a complete drive, the stack failed and the season just started. Cancel the spare in January. Opening Sunday is when the invoice is loud enough to hear over the crowd.

Pay for one live path. The second and third subscriptions are how a Sunday becomes a bill.
