The record the biopic was circling

I wrote about the Springsteen movie and said it was messy. Nebraska is not messy. It is a guy in a bedroom with a 4-track making the most American record of the 80s that does not sound like the 80s. Highway Patrolman still wrecks me. Used Cars still wrecks me.

If the movie got you curious, good. Do not stop at Jeremy Allen White. Put the record on and sit still. That is the whole assignment.

Skip the biopic if you have to pick. This is the thing. A car, at night, volume up enough to hear the room in the tape.
