The membership that forgot it was optional
I went to cancel and then I had a box on Thursday. That is the whole business model.
Amazon Prime, another year
MINUTECRITIC · Jul 1, 2026
Prime is a consumer service that hides in the week. Shipping, video, music, a checkout box already ticked. I did the math this year like an adult and still kept it, which is either an endorsement or a failure of will. Both.
The video library is a maze. The shipping is the product. If you are paying for the maze, you are being had. If you are paying for Thursday, you are the customer they built.
Keep it if you actually use the shipping. Cut it if it is just the default video app you forgot you pay for.

Labor Day store hours

Holiday hours are the product. The closed sign is doing the work.
Apps still take the order. A lot of counters will not. That split is the consumer story of the day.
