Top Gun: Maverick
This is the movie of the summer. There's no doubt about that. It also might be a two hour long ad for the Navy and, hey, we're ok with that. In fact if we saw this when we were younger, we would've probably enlisted and tried to fly one of these bad boys. Top Gun hits you from the moment the movie begins on an aircraft carrier as the sounds of Hans Zimmer carry us into the skies. And it doesn't let up til the final credits. It's such a cool movie that it really must be seen in theaters first. Now you might be asking, did you need to see the original first? While this might be helpful and bring more emotional value to the story, it is not required. The story does a great job of incorporating past with present allowing anyone to enjoy the movie without having to watch anything prior.
