Richmond is close enough to be a shrug and good enough to be a plan. I walked, ate, and did not think about a Beltway for 20 hours. The river is the feature. The food is better than people who only know the capital will tell you.

This is not a destination-wedding review. It is a 'get in the car' review. Sometimes that is the whole genre.

Walk the river. Eat in a neighborhood, not a district invented for you. One night is enough if you actually walk.
