Festival season is a logistics problem with a soundtrack

The music current event of midsummer is not a beef. It is a field. American festival season has become a test of municipal infrastructure wearing a wristband. Who got in. Who got water. Who got a ride home.

Artists are doing their jobs, often beautifully, in conditions that treat audiences as throughput. Streaming numbers will still lead a lot of music newsrooms because streaming numbers are easy. We will keep one eye on the record and one on the ground.
